Structured Resident Review

Share your apartment experience

Help future renters understand what living there is really like. Keep your review based on your own experience, avoid naming employees, and do not include threats, accusations, or private information.

Review safety guidelines

  • Use “in my experience” language.
  • Focus on conditions, response times, fees, and quality of life.
  • Do not include employee names, threats, or criminal accusations.
  • Do not upload private documents, IDs, people’s faces, license plates, mail, or personal information.

Apartment details

Start with the basic property information.

Score the experience

Use 1 for poor and 10 for excellent.

Written experience

Keep this factual and based on your personal experience.

Before submitting, make sure your review avoids employee names, private information, threats, or unsupported criminal accusations.

Optional photo upload

Add apartment-related photos that help explain your experience, such as maintenance issues, amenities, parking areas, package rooms, or common areas. Do not upload IDs, private documents, people’s faces, license plates, mail, or anything with personal information.

Photo safety note: BeforeLease should remove or reject uploads that show private information, people without consent, license plates, mail, lease documents, or anything unrelated to the apartment experience.

Verification placeholder

Future versions of BeforeLease may allow renters to verify residency with limited documentation, such as a lease address page or utility bill, while keeping public identity private.
